최민영(b. 1989)작가는 서울대학교 및 동 대학원 서양화과를 졸업하고 영국 스레이드 미술학교에서 석사과정을 마친후 런던을 기반으로 개인적 경험에서 비롯된 기억과 이미지를 바탕으로 기억과 환상이 교차하는 자유로운 서사 구조로 초현실적인 풍경을 그려낸다. 그녀의 작업에 등장하는 낯설고도 익숙한 장면들은 꿈속의 이미지처럼 시각적 착시를 유도하며, 일상의 틈새에 미묘한 균열을 일으킨다. 이는 현실의 틈새에 잠재된 감정과 상상을 드러내며, 우리에게 또 다른 시선을 제안한다.

Choi Minyoung (b. 1989) graduated from Seoul National University and its graduate school, where she studied Western Painting, before earning a master’s degree from the Slade School of Fine Art in London. Based in London, she draws on memories and images rooted in personal experience to create surreal landscapes through a free narrative structure in which memory and fantasy intersect. The scenes in her work, at once strange and familiar, evoke the imagery of dreams and create subtle fissures within everyday life. Through these cracks, she reveals emotions and imaginings latent within reality, offering viewers another way of seeing.
