소병진 [국가무형유산] – 소목장
국가 무형유산 소목장 소병진 선생은 맥이 끊긴 조선시대의 가구 전주장을 재현한 대한민국 가구 제작 명장 1호이자 국가 무형유산이다. 소목장이란 목재로 세간들을 만드는 기능자를 말하며, 현재 한국전통문화대학교 전통문화교육원의 객원교수로도 활발히 활동하고 있다. 긍재연(亘齋連)이라는 소병진 선생과 제자들의 모임을 통해 짜맞춤을 계승하고 발전시키며 우리의 전통 목가구를 널리 알리는 데 일조하기 위해 노력하고 계신다.

So Byeong-jin [National Intangible Cultural Heritage] – Somokjang (Woodworking)
So Byeong-jin, celebrated as South Korea’s first master artisan in furniture making, is a recognized holder of National Intangible Cultural Heritage. He is renowned for reviving the nearly lost traditional Korean furniture styles of the Joseon Dynasty. The term “somokjang” refers to artisans who craft household items from wood. Currently, So Byeong-jin actively teaches as a guest professor at the Traditional Culture Education Institute of the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage. Through his group, Geungjaeyeon, composed of himself and his disciples, he strives to preserve and enhance traditional joinery techniques and promote Korean traditional wooden furniture.
