오유경 현대 조형예술(설치조각)
바람의탑 크리스탈, 나무, 메탈, 고무등 가변설치
현대 미술의 거장 주세페 페노네(Giuseppe Penone)로부터 사사받은 오유경 작가는 너무나 흔하고 연약해 지나치기 쉬운 일상적 재료들로 작업해왔다. 작가는 2012년 에르메스에서 주관하는 아티스트 레지던시 프로그램에 주세페 페노네의 추천으로 참가하게 되면서 은 기구 제작으로 유명한 ‘퓌포카 공방(Puiforcat)’에서 장인들과 함께 ‘은’과 같은 메탈에 대한 탐구를 하게 된다. 그 경험으로 현재는 물질과 비물질 사이를 오가며 작업하고 있지만, 작업의 초기부터 작가는 삶의 ‘순환’이나 자연의 ‘섭리’를 바람이나 빛, 중력과 같은 비물질적인 것으로 작업하는데 몰두해왔다.
작가는 파리 국립고등미술학교(ENSBA)와 파리 8대학 대학원에서 수학했으며, 세계적인 컬렉션을 자랑하는 에르메스 재단(Fondation dentreprise d’Hermes), 크리스찬 디올 재단(Fondation Christian Dior) 등에 작품이 소장 되어있고, 프랑스의 팔레드 도쿄(Palais de Tokyo, 2013), 일본의 오카야마 아트센터(Okayama art center, 2012), 에르메스(Atelier Hermes, Seoul, Tokyo, 2014), 한국의 북서울미 술관(Buk Seoul museum of art, 2015), 0CI 미술관(ocl museum, 2015), 클레이아크미술관(Gimhae Clayarc Museum, 2016), 부산시 립미술관(Busan museum of Art, 2017) 등 국내외 유수의 공간에 소개되어 국제적으로 주목받고 있다.

Oh Yu-kyung, who studied under the renowned Italian artist Giuseppe Penone, works with everyday materials that are so ordinary and fragile they are often overlooked. In 2012, on Penone’s recommendation, she joined the Hermès artist residency program, where she collaborated with artisans at Puiforcat, the famed silver workshop, to explore the possibilities of metals such as silver. This experience deepened her practice, which has always moved fluidly between the material and immaterial. From the very beginning, her work has engaged with themes of life’s “cycles” and nature’s “order,” expressed through intangible elements such as wind, light, and gravity.
Oh studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA) in Paris and earned her master’s degree from Paris 8 University. Her works are held in prestigious collections including the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès and the Fondation Christian Dior, and she has exhibited internationally at leading institutions such as the Palais de Tokyo in France (2013), Okayama Art Center in Japan (2012), Atelier Hermès in Seoul and Tokyo (2014), Buk-Seoul Museum of Art (2015), OCI Museum of Art (2015), Gimhae Clayarch Museum (2016), and the Busan Museum of Art (2017). Through these exhibitions, she has gained international recognition for her exploration of the poetic boundary between the seen and unseen.
