궁중자수로 유명한 국가무형문화재 자수장 故 한상수 선생에게서 사사 받은 방채옥 선생은 의례 의식을 중시했던 옛 사회의 법으로 규정 되어 있는 예물과 기물에 문양과 색채, 재질 특히 왕실에서 방대한 쓰임이 있던 궁중 자수에 집중하여 작업을 이어 오고 있다. 오랜 기간 전승공예대전 입상 및 궁중 자수의 복원에 힘쓰고 있다. 현재 수원 정조대왕능행차도를 궁중자수로 재현하여 궁중자수의 정수를 보여준다.

Bang Chae-ok, a student of the late Han Sang-soo, a National Intangible Cultural Heritage embroidery master renowned for royal court embroidery, continues this intricate art form. She focuses on the patterns, colors, and materials dictated by the traditions of a society that highly valued ceremonial rituals, specializing in the royal court embroidery extensively used by the royal family. She has spent many years winning awards at Traditional Craft Competitions and restoring royal court embroidery. She has recreated the Royal Procession of King Jeongjo to His Father’s Tomb in royal court embroidery, showcasing the essence of this traditional craft.
