김해자 [국가무형유산] – 누비장
국가무형유산 김해자 선생은 잔누비와 오목누비의 대가로, 현재 0.3cm에 달하는 잔누비까지 제작하고 있으며, 많은 문화재 및 유물을 복원하였다. 우리나라의 전통 손누비는 세계 유일한 재봉법이다. 잔누비는 세누비라고도 하며 누비 간격이 0.5cm내외의 좁은 형태이다. 고종의 누비 저고리는 잔누비로 누빔선에 풀을 칠하여 인두로 다려 입체적인 효과를 보였는데 이를 오목누비라고 한다. 이 오목누비는 세탁을 하면 사라지므로 다시 인두로 다려야하는 수고로움을 겪어야 하기에 왕실에서나 사용하였다.
솜누비 장옷
조선시대 여인들의 외출용 쓰개 장옷을 변형하여 현대에 착용할 수 있도록 하였다. 명주에 목화솜을 두고 0.5cm간격으로 누볐다. 고름은 소목, 끝동은 발효쪽으로 염색했다.

Kim Hae-ja [National Intangible Cultural Heritage] – Nubijang (Quilting)
Master Kim Hae-ja, recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage artisan, is celebrated for her mastery in Jan-nubi (fine quilting) and Omok-nubi (concave quilting). She can now create Jan-nubi with stitching as delicate as 0.3 cm and has restored countless cultural artifacts and relics. Korea’s traditional hand-quilting is a unique technique found nowhere else in the world. Jan-nubi, also called Se-nubi, involves fine quilting with stitch intervals of around 0.5 cm. King Gojong’s quilted jeogori (traditional Korean jacket) featured Jan-nubi, where starch was applied to the quilting lines, and the fabric was ironed to achieve a three-dimensional effect, known as Omok-nubi. Since Omok-nubi loses its effect after washing and requires re-ironing, it was primarily reserved for use in the royal court.
Cotton Quilted Jangot
This modern take on the jangot, a traditional hooded cloak worn by women during the Joseon Dynasty, has been redesigned for contemporary use. The cloak is quilted with cotton batting between layers of silk, with stitching spaced at 0.5 cm intervals. The goreum (ribbon tie) is dyed with somok (natural plant dye), and the kkeutdong (cuffs and collar) is dyed using fermented indigo.
