김동준 작가는 백자 달항아리를 전문으로 제작하는 현대 도예가이다.
조선 시대 달항아리의 조형미와 정신을 현대적으로 계승하면서도, 장작가마라는 전통적인 방식으로 제작을 고수하고 있다. 직접 채취한 백토와 소나무 장작을 사용하며, 물레 성형 후 17시간에 걸쳐 장작가마에서 구워내는 과정을 통해 작품에 시간과 불의 흔적을 담아낸다.
완벽한 대칭보다는 자연스러운 비정형의 아름다움을 추구하며, 항아리마다 고유한 생명력을 불어넣는다.
2021년 뉴 스프링 프로젝트 전시와 2022년 갤러리LVS 개인전 등에서 출품작이 전량 판매되며 큰 주목을 받았다.
현재는 오직 달항아리 작업에 집중하며, 장작가마의 전통성과 현대적 미감을 융합한 도예 작업을 지속하고 있다.

Kim Dong-jun is a ceramic artist dedicated to the timeless beauty of the white porcelain moon jar. Inspired by the harmony and spirit of the Joseon dynasty originals, he carries the tradition forward while working in the old way—using a wood-fired kiln. From collecting his own white clay to firing each piece for 17 hours with pinewood, Kim lets both time and fire leave their marks on the finished jar.
His works embrace the quiet elegance of natural imperfection rather than rigid symmetry, giving every moon jar its own unique presence and life. His artistry has drawn wide attention, with entire collections selling out at the New Spring Project exhibition in 2021 and his solo show at Gallery LVS in 2022.
Today, Kim devotes himself entirely to moon jars, blending the heritage of wood-fired kilns with a contemporary sense of beauty to keep this tradition alive for modern audiences.
