창덕궁은 조선 왕실의 정치와 문화, 생활이 고스란히 녹아든 세계유산입니다. 특히 전시가 펼쳐지는 낙선재, 석복헌, 수강재는 마치 하나의 집처럼 이어져 있고 호화로운 위엄보다는 인간적인 온기를 느낄 수 있는 아름다운 공간입니다. 여기에 한국의 전통을 계승하고 있는 장인들의 공예품과 우리 마음에 담긴 전통을 모티브로 다채로운 작품 세계를 표현하는 예술가들의 작품을 함께 감상할 수 있는 자리를 마련하였습니다.

Changdeokgung Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site, embodies the politics, culture, and daily life of the Joseon royal court. Within it, Nakseonjae, Seokbokheon, and Sugangjae—where the exhibition unfolds—are seamlessly connected, like rooms in a single home. Rather than imposing grandeur, these spaces offer a sense of warmth, intimacy, and understated elegance. This exhibition brings together two worlds: master artisans who preserve Korea’s traditions, and contemporary artists who reimagine that heritage through diverse creative expressions.

<낙선재遊, 이음의 合>은 과거와 오늘을 이어주고 사람과 사람을 연결하며, 전통과 현대 작품들이 어우러지는 모든 순간을 엮어낸 것입니다. 낙선재에서는 정교하고 세심한 장인의 솜씨에서 비롯된 전통공예의 미를 살펴볼 수 있습니다. 석복헌의 전시는 전통의 기법을 현대적으로 해석한 실험적이고 독창적인 분위기로 전개됩니다. 그리고 수강재는 전통 재료와 기법을 현대적으로 활용한 작품들의 새로운 미래를 보여줄 것입니다.

This exhibition, Nakseonjae Yu, The Harmony of Connection, weaves together past and present, connects people across generations, and blends tradition with modern creativity. At Nakseonjae, you’ll encounter the refined beauty of traditional craftsmanship, born from the meticulous hands of master artisans. At Seokbokheon, the exhibition unfolds with an experimental and inventive spirit, reinterpreting traditional techniques through a contemporary lens. At Sugangjae, the exhibition looks ahead, presenting works that revitalize traditional materials and techniques for a contemporary future.

공예는 모든 일상에 오롯이 깃들어 있습니다. 오래전부터 선조들이 가까이에 두고 만지고 느끼면서 희로애락을 함께 한 우리의 정체성이고 미래 문화를 향한 영감의 원천입니다. 정성스럽게 준비한 K-헤리티지 아트展의 세 번째 전시를 더욱 가깝게 마주하시길 바랍니다. 전통공예 장인과 작가들의 두 손을 맞잡는 순간, ‘이음의 合’이라는 깊은 울림이 여러분의 마음에도 잔잔히 이어질 것입니다. 또한 수강재(壽康齋)의 ‘오래 살고 편안하다’의 뜻처럼, 우리의 전통과 다양한 문화도 그와 같기를 기원합니다.
